Artists who work in collaboration with IcTus Projects:

Zeina Barakeh: Barakeh’s artwork examines how people and space become polarized during binary divisions. Through animation, digital media and archival installations, she interrogates constructions of identity, history, memory, and territory. Barakeh was born in Beirut and moved to the United States in 2006. She holds an MFA from SFAI.

Mary Conrad : Mary Fernando Conrad investigates social infrastructure through the use of vernacular materials such as neon signage, plastic and packaging.

Rodney Ewing: Rodney Ewing is a mixed media artist based in San Francisco California. His works focus on intersecting body and place, memory and fact to re-examine human histories, cultural conditions. Rodney Ewing’s work has been included in numerous exhibitions nationally.

Kyoung-ah Kang: An established Korean national contemporary visual artist who currently resides in San Francisco. MFA, San Francisco Art Institute

Keba KonteKeba Konte is a mixed-media artist who weaves stories through the photographic process. His work decodes and conveys messages about life experiences and allows the viewer to imagine the story behind the work of art. Konte’s work is about memory: collective, personal, and community.

Fernando Martí - Fernando Martí is an artist, community architect, and activist. Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador,Fernando Marti also creates art through the San Francisco Print Collective and Just Seeds Artists Cooperative.

Chris Novak: Internationally exhibited multimedia artist based in San Francisco. MFA, SF Art Institute

Joan Osato is self-taught photographer, born and raised in San Francisco.  She works in medium film format, preferring to work with existing light, hand held.  Her style is documentary, although her images exude mysterious or dreamlike qualities. 

C. Ree:  Multimedia video artist based in Los Angeles. C Ree is interested in remakes, misrecognition and the residue of violence and the paranormal in the everyday. Her installation and video work often begins with cinema and explores the possibilities of the monstrous and the changing spatial politics of desire. She holds an MFA from U.C. Irvine.

Tessie Barrera-Scharaga : a conceptual installation/assemblage artist that creates site-specific and time-based environments, using a variety of media and technology.

Heather Sparks is a conceptual artist whose work spans installation, sculpture, and video as well as drawing and painting. Heather’s work has been exhibited internationally.  She has been included in the Valencia Biennale, “Observatori”, in Valencia, Spain and in the Lyon Biennale, in Lyon, France. Heather received her MFA from Stanford University in 2007. She received her BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute.

Choi Jeong Hwa is an internationally renowned  Seoul-based artist who works across many disciplines – art, industrial design and architecture. http://choijeonghwa.com/

Takehito Etani creates work in such various media as electronics, wearable technology, installations, sculpture, performance, and video. He grew up in Japan, and attended art school in Pennsylvania. http://www.takehitoetani.com/

Alice Könitz is a multi-media artist whose sculptures riff on midtwentieth- century modernist furniture and public art. Born in Germany, she now resides in Los Angeles. Her work was featured in the 2008 Whitney Biennial.http://alicekoenitz.blogspot.com/

Ben Herndon: is a multi-media installation and performance artist based in San Francisco, CA

Gregory Ito is trained as a painter at the San Francisco Art Institute, Ito works in painting, photography, sculpture, and installation. He currently works and lives in San Francisco. http://www.gregoryito.com/

Edmundo de Marchena earned his MFA from San Francisco State University, and has exhibited in Venezuela, Colombia, New York, Berlin, Los Angeles and San Francisco. http://edmundodemarchena.com/

Melony Wofford Bravmann collages employ a modernist abstract aesthetic, often referencing reproductions of pivotal modernist images as the basis for restrained destructive actions. She lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area, and earned her MFA from CCA.
